About me
I am a certified chemistry teacher.
I have a:
Master’s degree in Biochemistry from Dartmouth College
Bachelor’s degree in Education from Western Governors University, and
Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Chemistry from Oral Roberts University.
As a teacher, I have had many opportunities to interact extensively with parents and students from varied socio-economic, religious, and ethnic backgrounds. Before I became a teacher, I was a research scientist. My research involved studying the mitochondrial DNA in tumorigenesis, fragile X syndrome, and viral vaccine research. I was co-author of seven major publications as appeared in professional journals.
In addition to teaching and research, I worked with nonprofit organizations for 10 years organizing grantmakers-grantseekers forum and nonprofit online training program.
I recognize that an important indicator of our economic future lies in our small business development and workforce. I am committed to support of Washington business community priorities, and I am endorsed by the Association of Washington Business.
